DARES SAS Supply Side Programme: Expanding Access to Electricity Nationwide

PriVida Power Limited is implementing the DARES Stand-Alone Solar (SAS) Supply Side Programme to expand access to clean and reliable electricity for underserved households across Nigeria. The initiative targets communities with limited or unreliable grid supply by deploying decentralized solar solutions.
PriVida has been prequalified to deploy at least 1,200 Stand-Alone Solar Home Systems across multiple states. The deployment will comprise 80W Solar Home Systems, designed to match different household energy needs. These systems will support lighting, phone charging, fans, televisions, and other essential appliances, reducing dependence on kerosene, candles, and small petrol generators.
The programme will improve household welfare by enabling safer evenings, extended study hours, and greater productivity, while lowering energy costs. It will also deliver environmental benefits through reduced emissions, noise, and indoor air pollution. Local deployment and support activities are expected to generate employment, build technical capacity, and strengthen local solar value chains, reinforcing PriVida Power Limited’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable energy access.
