170 Mini-Grid Projects in Cameroon Feasibility Study (With TransCaribbean Energy Control)

This feasibility study examined the large-scale development of 170 solar Mini-Grid projects across Cameroon, establishing a structured framework for expanding decentralized electricity access nationwide. Delivered through a strategic partnership between Trans Caribbean Energy Control (TCEC) and PriVida Limited UK, the study combined local market intelligence with international renewable energy expertise to assess technical design, commercial viability, regulatory readiness, and phased deployment potential.
The assessment focused on scalable Mini-Grid configurations capable of serving residential, commercial, and productive-use customers in underserved and off-grid communities. Key outcomes included demand profiling, system sizing, investment structuring, and implementation pathways designed to support reliable power supply, long-term financial sustainability, and rapid replication across multiple locations.
Beyond energy access, the study highlighted the project’s potential to catalyse local economic development, enable productive enterprises, reduce reliance on diesel generation, and deliver measurable carbon emission reductions. The findings position the Mini-Grid programme as an investment-ready platform for accelerating clean energy deployment while supporting inclusive growth and energy resilience.
