Planned Solar PV Manufacturing Plant: Driving Local Value and Clean Energy Impact

PriVida Power Limited is planning the establishment of a 150 MW solar PV manufacturing plant in Nigeria to strengthen local clean energy supply and reduce reliance on imported solar equipment. The semi-automated facility will produce over 250,000 monocrystalline solar panels annually for use across residential, commercial, Mini-Grid, and utility-scale projects.

By localising production, the project is expected to deliver up to $5 billion in cumulative savings from avoided solar equipment imports while creating approximately 10,000 direct and indirect jobs annually across manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and downstream deployment. The panels produced will support large-scale clean energy access, enabling improved electricity supply for homes, businesses, and public services.

The project will also deliver strong environmental benefits, enabling about 146 GWh of clean electricity generation annually and avoiding an estimated 1.47 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions over the panels’ operational life. This planned manufacturing plant builds on PriVida’s growing renewable energy portfolio and reinforces its commitment to job creation, economic growth, and a cleaner, more resilient energy future for Nigeria.
