The management of the airport and PriVida jointly conceptualized a solar farm project to power the airport and support the industrialization drive of the oil-rich state considered politically stable and economically viable.
A detailed design was submitted to the customer and approval obtained in December 2015. Procurement of materials is expected to start in July 2016 and construction completed by March 2017.
An initial offer letter has been issued to PriVida, with 50 acres of land allocated for the project. The management of the airport and the state government have committed to facilitate the issuance and/or processing of all required licences.
A final MoU has been agreed whilst PriVida is currently finalizing a business plan and financial model to support the project.
